First Student-Led Lunar Rover: Iris Rover
Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute has developed the first student-led lunar rover, the Iris Rover, ready to start its journey to the Moon next year.
The rover secured to the decks of Astrobotic’s Peregrine Lunar Lander is said to be the smallest and lightest rover ever made to land on the Moon to collect data from the Moon’s terrain and its rock formations.
More than 200 CMU students worked on this over in the span of 3 years, and it is now close to its success.
